The Art of Participation

There are no solo artists. We are all connected and alive and reactive. Every person who attends EQ events is a participant, not a observer or spectator. Everyone is an artist. Everyone has something to give and share.

EQ is not Disneyland. You can't just pay your ticket to ride. You are a guardian of the space. Everyone is part of the ride. Every smile, every discarded object picked up, every bite prepared to share and every hug, is part of the magic that is EQ.

You do not have to be a musician or DJ to contribute. Even if your art has nothing to do with color or sound, you can participate. Maybe you help keep people hydrated, maybe you share sunscreen with someone in need or maybe you just point the way to the nearest restroom. Everyone is needed to make EQ enjoyable, safe, magical, renewing, supportive, accepting, thrilling and peaceful.

If you are not sure how to contribute, here are some ideas:

Theme Camp
A themed camp is a camp that demonstrates a particular theme and welcomes guests. For example, maybe you have a bloody Mary bar at your camp with a happy hour, a chess camp with scheduled competitions, maybe you help participants make tutus, or you provide a BBQ rib feast.Get some friends together and try something new.

Costumes
Some like to use their body as a canvas and wear interesting and elaborate costumes to add to the celebration. This can be a group, for example a bevy of woodland fairies. Human art is wonderful.

Volunteer
Counting the musicians and DJs it takes over 400 volunteers to make EQ happen. 400! A variety of volunteer shifts are available such as parking crew, medical, greeting, setup, cleanup, signage, kids camp, hospitality and more. Shifts will soon be posted online for your choosing.

Food - Sustenance
There is no vending at EQ. It is a gift-based event. But people get hungry and some are ill-prepared. If you love to cook and share, your camp can host a meal or even wandering meals or treats. If you plan to serve treats with alcohol, please watch for 21+ wristbands.

Sports & Games
Bocci ball, volleyball, leap frog, Frisbee golf...bring it! The Fort has a lot of space for fun and games. However, please NO ATVs and such. Too noisy and dangerous to other participants.

Art Cars
Art cars are modified golf cars or small vehicles that are extremely altered. Maybe you turn your golf cart into a giant lady bug, or a viking ship. No matter the design, they must be safe, operated by sober drivers and well-lit if used at night. Also, if your art car produces sound, we ask that you turn the sound off when near the stages.

MOOP Fairies (LNT)
The Fort is a beautiful place and we want to keep it that way.  Matter-Out-Of-Place Fairies frolic through the forest and meadows to gently remind other forest creatures to keep the venue clean. You can group-up, wear costumes or use another methods to help cleanup and remind others to do so as well.

Participation is your art. We are not just a stowaway on this journey of life. Bring your art, love, gifts, talents and energy.

Thank you. ~love~
